Outstanding Achievement Award

The Outstanding Achievement Award was established in 2002. It is given every 4 years to encourage Chinese young and middle aged soil sciences researchers to pursue excellence and progress. No more than 4 people are elected in a given year.

Science and Technology Award

The Science and Technology Award was established in 2005. It is given annually to recognize Chinese soil science practitioners and groups who have made great contributions to China’s soil sciences and to give incentives to them to put more energy to China’s soil sciences innovation and development.

Outstanding Young Scholar Award

The Outstanding Young Scholar Award was established in 2007. It is given every 2 years to recognize Chinese soil scientists under the age of 36 in order to encourage these young scientists to devote themselves in the soil sciences. No more than 10 people are elected in a given year.

Process

i.The SSSC receives a list of eligible candidates from the Society affiliated agencies and regional soil or fertilizer societies. 
ii.The candidates’ application materials will be reviewed by the Society Secretariat.
iii.The experts grade candidates and determine the award recipients.
iv.The list of award winners will be announced on SSSC website and WeChat Official Account for 5 business days.
v.The winner list will be audited during the standing council meeting.
vi.The recipients will be presented awards to on the standing council meeting. 

Process

i.The registration notification will be issued on the SSSC website and WeChat official account, and sent to Specialty Committees, Working Committees, Working Groups, Provincial societies, Board of Directors and members. 
ii.The Society Secretariat conducted evaluation about the qualification of recommended candidates.
iii.The selection group will be formed and leaded by our Society’s head to initially assess candidates who have passed the qualification evaluation.  
iv.The expert group of peer appraisal will be formed to determine the eligible candidates. 
v.The list of eligible candidates will be announced on the SSSC website and WeChat official account for 5 business days.
vi.If there is no objection during the publicity period, the materials of eligible candidates will be sent to CAST for final review. 
vii.The final list determined by CAST will be announced on the CAST website and WeChat official account for 5 business days. And if there is no objection during the publicity period, the candidates will be confirmed as the sponsored scientists and receive the certificate.
viii.The sponsored scientists will be presented the certificate by SSSC on the standing council.
