PUBLIC EDUCATION

 

 

The Soil Science Society of China recognizes the importance of education to the public. Supporting and encouraging the education of soil sciences is especially critical for the agriculture and our nation. To help deliver this purpose, we run academic events expert lectures to improve the public consciousness on the soils.

World Soil Day

 

 

World Soil Day is an international day recommended by the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) in 2002 and held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. 

Our planet’s survival depends on the precious link between soil and water. Over 95 percent of our food originates from these two fundamental resources. Water in soils, vital for nutrient absorption by plants, binds our ecosystems together.

China National Science Popularization Day

To commemorate the law of the P.R.C. on the popularization of science and technology, established in 2002, China Association of Science and Technology (CAST) organizes amusing activities about science on the third weekend in September every year, called the National Science Popularization Day. 

National Science Week

 

Launched in 2001, the National Science Week is an influential popular scientific event offering a feast of science and technology for the public to experience and perceive the world of science.

National Science and Technology Workers Day

National Science and Technology Workers Day, which falls on May 30 each year, to draw attention to the role of innovation and the importance of talent and career development of science and technology workers. It is a festival for Chinese science and technology workers.
