2nd Forum of Carbon Neutrality & Global Change Hosted in Nanjing
From October 24 to 27, 2023, the 2nd Forum of Carbon Neutrality & Climate Change was organized by the SSSC Working Group on Carbon Neutrality and Global Change, International Institute for Earth System Science of Nanjing University, School of Geography and Ocean Science of Nanjing University, ISSCAS, and College of Resources and Environmental Sciences of Nanjing Agricultural University in Nanjing. A total of 119 oral reports were presented in the plenary sessions, parallel sessions and graduate sessions.
Prof. Qirong Shen from Nanjing Agricultural University and other professors shared their research concerning burning issues such as soil carbon sequestration, synergy of pollution and carbon reduction and sustainable development of soil and agriculture. After the forum, attendees had a tour in Temperature by Free-Air CO2 Enrichment (T-FACE), an innovative new research platform developed by ISSCAS to simulate climate change scenarios for the future.
The forum built a bridge for soil scientists to exchange thoughts in soil carbon neutrality and to work together to promote greener economic and social development by achieving dual carbon goals.
