2025 Conference of SSSC Specialty Committee on Forest Soils Concluded in Inner Mongolia

From August 17 to 20, 2025, the Annual Conference of the SSSC Specialty Committee on Forest Soils was jointly hosted with the Specialty Committee on Forest Soils of the Chinese Society of Forestry in Inner Mongolia. The conference began with an opening address by Prof. Fucang Qin, Director of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Forestry Sciences.

More than 100 attendees gathered to discuss pressing topics and share the latest findings in the field of forest sciences. Keynote speeches were delivered by renowned experts including Prof. Zhanyuan Lu from the Inner Mongolia Academy of Agricultural & Animal Husbandry Sciences, Prof. Wenfa Xiao from Chinese Academy of Forestry and Prof. Xiangyang Sun from Beijing Forestry University.

Parallel sessions covered four topics from ecological restoration projects to the microbial diversity in sea buckthorn rootnodule and the reuse of landscape waste. A field trip on August 19 took more than 60 participants to the Desert Botanical Garden of the Inner Mongolia Academy of Forestry Sciences and the New Energy Base in Kubuqi Desert, showcasing the successful integration of renewable energy solutions and desert restoration efforts.

The conference significantly promoted academic exchange and collaboration, providing scientific support and practical knowledge for future forest soil research and ecological development in China.
