2025 Conference of SSSC Specialty Committee on Soil Ecology & 9th National Symposium on Soil Ecology and Health Held in Lanzhou

From August 14 to 17, 2025, the Annual Conference of the SSSC Specialty Committee on Soil Ecology and the 9th National Symposium on Soil Ecology and Health concluded in Lanzhou, jointly organized by Lanzhou University, Nanjing Agricultural University and Gansu Agricultural University, and was attended by 400 experts.

The opening ceremony was led by Prof. Manqiang Liu, Chair of the SSSC Specialty Committee on Soil Ecology, and the welcome speeches were delivered by Prof. Jiabao Zhang, SSSC President, Prof. Zhibiao Nan, Director of the Center for Grassland Microbiome, Lanzhou University, and Prof. Ximeng Chen, Vice President of Lanzhou University. The symposium featured six keynote reports, 72 thematic reports, and 70+ graduate reports covering six topics such as soil fauna, grassland ecology and emerging pollutants. Additionally, a training course on soil fauna analysis was also organized which attracted more than 200 participants.

Highlighting cross-disciplinary collaboration and robust youth engagement, the event significantly advanced research exchange and innovation in the fields of soil ecology and health across China.
