2025 Annual Conference of SSSC Working Committee on Soil Engineering & Symposium on Cultivated Land Fertility Improvement and Soil Engineering Held in Mudanjiang

From June 27 to 29, 2025, the Annual Conference of the SSSC Working Committee on Soil Engineering & Symposium on Cultivated Land Fertility Improvement and Soil Engineering was con-organized by the SSSC Working Committee on Soil Engineering and the Commission on Soil engineering and Technology of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) in Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang Province. This event garnered strong support from the the Heilongjiang Academy of Black Soil Protection and Utilization.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Qiuju Wang, Chair of SSSC Working Committee on Soil Engineering, and the welcome speech was delivered by Prof. Yuanfang Huang, SSSC Vice President and Chair of IUSS Commission on Soil engineering and Technology. The conference featured insightful keynote speeches from esteemed experts, including Prof. Ming Gang Xu from Shanxi Agricultural University, Prof. Jingkuan Wang from Shenyang Agricultural University and Prof. Xibai Zeng from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. During the thematic sessions, young scientists shared their research across diverse areas such as soil enhancement and monitoring, land reclamation, and the management and application of fertilizer and microbial product.

This symposium is of great importance for soil scientists and industry professionals, accelerating the application of new technologies and methods in soil engineering aimed at black soil protection and cultivated land fertility improvement.
