6th Academic Forum on Nitrogen Biochemical Cycling in Soils Convened Successfully
From April 11 to 13, 2025, the 6th Academic Forum on Nitrogen Biogeochemical Cycling in Soils was hosted by the SSSC Nitrogen Cycling Specialty Committee, organized by Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), the Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISSCAS), Hehai University and Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology, CAS in Nanjing. The forum attracted over 600 participants from 206 universities, research institutes and companies.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Prof. Jiandong Jiang, Dean of the College of Life Sciences, NAU. To promote communication and foster collaboration in nitrogen cycle research, the forum presented 10 keynote reports, 57 invited reports, and 121 oral reports to discuss six topics including “nitrogen cycle and fertilizer utilization in farmland”, “nitrogen cycle forests and grasslands and global change” and “nitrogen management for sustainable development”. A special session was organized where renowned experts share their research insights with young scholars and graduate students.
This forum was praised by attendees for its role in facilitating exchanges among young scholars and promoting interdisciplinary integration. It is anticipated that this forum will significant contribute to addressing major national strategic issues such as national food security and pollution control.
